TEP Seminar - Claus Roll

Optica (formerly OSA), Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide, is the society dedicated to promoting the generation, application, archiving and dissemination of knowledge in the field.

The purpose of this presentation is to provide information for students and early career professionals about benefits that they can obtain for:

• Travel grants to attend Optica meetings or student programs, prizes, awards, summer schools, programs for networking and career development.
• A focus will be made on the common features of a majority of these programs, building your network for later career development, for either positions in academia or industry.
• Additional information will be provided about different types of workshops available on research integrity and ethics; scientific article writing (containing advise on use or not of AI, etc.).

About the presenter. Dr. Claus Roll is the Deputy Senior Director, Europe for Optica, which he joined at the beginning of 2020. His tasks comprise developing, building and sustaining relationships and connections with Optica members and customers in northern Europe.
