Applications are invited for a W3 Professorship in

 

Experimental Quantum Photonics

 

at the Institute for Physics, Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, Julius Maximilians Universität Würzburg, Germany.

This is a permanent position and application are sought from excellent and internationally renowned candidates who will reinforce or complement the faculty’s research strength and the Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat in the field of Experimental Quantum Photonics.  Main research topics may include but are not limited to novel concepts of topological or integrated quantum photonics.  The specific research area is expected to complete the faculty’s existing research program topically and methodically.  Furthermore, participation in the Würzburg-Dresden Center of Excellence "Complexity and Topology in Quantum Matter" is explicitly welcome.


The appointee will be expected to lead, support and develop education and training within the field of Physics and Nanostructure Technology, engaging with both undergraduate and postgraduate students.  Candidates will have a track record of publishing in international peer-reviewed journals and should have demonstrated competence in defining research projects and attracting research funding.


Applicants should have a university degree in physics or a related discipline, university level teaching experience, and additional academic qualifications. The latter should be in the form of a PhD degree and Habilitation or evidence of an equivalent research track record.
