Bose Einstein Condensation belongs to the most intriguing phenomena in Physics, and, alongside with the other „macroscopic three“ (Superfluidity, Superconductivity and Laser Radiation) is a striking example of a macroscopic quantum state, resulting from a genuine quantum phase transition.
Mostly the extreme technological challenges, which are associated with BEC-experiments, induced a 70 year time-delay between its prediction and celebrated observation in ultra-cold quantum gases. In the lecture, a low-cost approach of truly interdisciplinary research will be introduced, which enables the observation of Bosonic condensates in light-matter coupled systems at Room temperature… based on materials which typically put a frown on most physicists face….
