Information and Criteria Röntgen Prize
Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen Prize
Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (1845 -1923), The first Nobel Prize winner in physics and former director of the Physics Institute at the University of Würzburg bequeathed the prize money from the Nobel Prize awarded to him in 1901 to the University of Würzburg on the condition that the proceeds be used to promote research activities at the Physics Institute of the University of Würzburg.
For this reason, the Physics Institute of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy awards the Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen Prizes each year to the best students (Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen Study Prize) and outstanding doctoral candidates (Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen Science Prize).
Criteria for awarding the Röntgen Science Prize
