Hall viscosity is the analog of Hall conductivity for shear stress. In general, it can be nonzero whenever time reversal and parity are
broken in a 2+1 dimensional system, for instance in the presence of an external magnetic field. However, in strongly coupled fluids
with a holographic dual description the Hall viscosity was found to be zero, which is at odds with attempts to use holography to
describe Fractional Quantum Hall systems. In this talk I explain how the holographic model can be modified to accommodate for
a nonzero Hall viscosity via higher derivative terms on the gravity side.
