Top-quark production, soft emissions and photons at the LHC
Abstract
Associated top-pair production is a one of the rarest class of Standard Model processes that are currently experimentally accessible at the LHC. As the amount of available data increases, their studies require highly precise theoretical predictions. In this talk, I discuss the status of the theoretical predictions. In particular, I focus on the calculations taking into account soft gluon emission to all orders by means of rresummation techniques for processes of associated top-pair production (ttbar+X) with a boson (X=H,W,Z) or for four top quark production (X=ttbar). In the second part of the talk, I will discuss aspects of the calculation up to the next-to-leading-power accuracy of spectra of soft photons emitted in arbitrary processes at the LHC.
