(Gapless chiral) spin liquids in frustrated magnets

Abstract

Quantum spin liquids are intriguing phases in quantum magnetism.After an introduction to the subject, I will talk about the projective symmetry group classification of such exotic phases within the parton construction, in particular the case of chiral spin liquids. I will then present recent work on the theory of the kapellasite material, a spin S=1/2 kagome Heisenberg system with farther-neighbor interactions. Finally, this leads to a crossed-chains construction of a gapless chiral spin liquid.
