Two topics in the Standard Model: polarizations in VBS and subtraction of IR singularities beyond NLO
Abstract
In the lights of the Run-II of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), it is crucial to investigate processes which are most sensitive to the presence of new physics, as well as to perform perturbative calculations with the highest precision possible. I will present the main results of two projects I have been working on in the past two years: the first concerns the phenomenological study of the scattering of polarized vector bosons at the LHC, the second concerns the proposal of a new local, analytic scheme for the subtraction of infrared singularities in massless Quantum Chromo-Dynamics at next-to-next-to-leading order.
