    Chair excursion to Bamberg

In September 2017 we visited the beautiful old town of Bamberg. Our guide picked us up at the train station and a three and a half hour tour through the World Heritage began. From the station through the old town our guide led us to our first stop at Schlenkerla where we tasted a delicious Kümmelbrötla and the world famous smoked beer. After that, we continued our journey along Klein Venedig, passed the old town hall and had another short break at Schleuse 100 at the end of the Ludwig canal where our guide told us about the interesting history of the canal. Our guided tour finally ended at the cathedral and its beautiful gardens where we enjoyed an astonishing overview of the whole city.
Our last way led us to the Gasthof Greifenklau where the master brewer gave us an introduction how one of the famous beer brands of Bamberg is made, followed by dinner and a beer tasting in the idyllic garden.
On the way back to the station a short break at Brauerei Spezial and Brauerei Fässla was “inevitable” and we finally left Bamberg at 9pm.
