Hardware development

The hardware group at Würzburg aims at developing new technologies for use in MR imaging of the human body, small animals, plants and microscopic samples.

At our 1.5T and 3.0T whole body systems as well as at our 7.0T small animal scanner special attention is given to phased array setups for increased SNR and their use in PPA applications.

The high field hardware group works on establishing exisiting designs for lower field strengths at our 11.7T and 17.6T microscopy systems. Furthermore, periphery like probe bases, animal handling systems, ECG triggering units are being designed.
