Constrains on the MeV emission from Jupiter.
Goal: Constraining MeV emission using planetary atmospheres as both reflectors of incident radiation and generators of photons in the MeV energy range through the interaction of cosmic rays with atmospheric material. We simulate these interactions to derive atmospheric photon yields, which can then be used to model the emission from planetary surfaces as observed with SPI.
Methods: MEGAlib Monte Carlo simulations, INTEGRAL/SPI data analysis, population synthesis.
