Sofware Carpentry Workshop 2017

At the end of June on the 26th and the 27th there will be a workshop held in Würzburg on the topic of software carpentry. Where? Bibliothek und Seminarzentrum, Josef-Martin-Weg 64, Room SE 63.00.319, 97074 Würzburg.

Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, data management, and task automation. To that end the workshop will include working with the Unix Shell, version control with git and an introduction to programming with python. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.
