Electroweak precision physics
Electroweak precision observables provide important tests of the Standard Model across a wide range of energies. This talk reviews electroweak precision observables at different energies, focusing on the running weak mixing angle. We further discuss how these enter global fits and how oblique parameters can describe possible effects of new physics. The focus then turns to low-energy parity-violating electron scattering, probing the weak mixing angle far below the Z pole, providing an independent test of its Standard Model running.
