Application Periods & Deadlines

The general deadlines for the applications are:

  • Starting winter semester (October): March 15th of each year for the following winter semester
  • Starting summer semester (April): October 31st of the previous year for the following summer semester

Please note, that despite of the above mentioned deadlines, all applications are reviewed by the faculties admissions committee on a rolling basis when received and a decision on admission can be expected within approximately three months.

Important Hint

You do NOT need to provide a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist to apply for the master programs in “Physics International" and “Quantum Engineering”.

Important Hints

Please do NOT send any paper documents either to the faculty nor the university officials in order to apply in step 1. All paper applications in step 1 will be ignored and the documents will be shredded without further inquiry. Thank you very much fro your help and understanding!

Do NOT proceed to step 2 without having received an official admission letter from the faculty's examination board. In this case, the application will automatically be rejected by the university officials!

You need to have a preliminary certificate and the final grade is fixed.

You DO NOT need to provide a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist to apply for the master programs in “Physics International" and “Quantum Engineering”.

If documents are missing or we have questions regarding your application, we will contact you directly. If all documents are complete, please wait until you receive a response from the Examination Board.

You may start the master study program for which you have applied either the next semester or the following semester, e.g. in case of visa or other formality problems.

For Step 1 of the application, your documents must be translated into English, but not certified.

Please do not apply until your final grade has been determined and you can provide at least a provisional certificate, or you can provide already your graduation documents.
