Friedman-Robertson-Walker Cosmology and Inflation
In this talk we will review the basic concepts of inflationary cosmology. We will start by introducing the Friedman-Robertson-Walker metric and show how it leads to the standard model of cosmology. Then we explore the problems of this model and how inflation provides elegant solutions to them. We will conclude with a brief introduction of single field inflation models and the fundamental cosmological concepts needed to understand models of inflation at the pole.
