Non-Hermitian Systems in San Sebastián
08.09.2025From the 1st to the 5th of September, Fabian and Jonathan attended the workshop “Perspectives in Non-Hermitian Systems”, held in San Sebastián. The topics covered ranged from experimental implications to the engineering of open systems, with a particular focus on tailoring open photonic setups, optical resonators, and quantum control mechanisms.
Fabian reported on exceptional points at x-ray wavelengths, presenting both his theoretical predictions and the analysis of experimental data. Jonathan showcased his work on topological quantum optics in atomic emitter arrays, where he demonstrated that such arrays can host topological phases depending on the polarization direction.
Beyond the physics, the two PhD students enjoyed engaging conversations with fellow researchers during the coffee breaks and a delightful workshop dinner.
