Back from Bonn
17.03.2025Adriana, Alex, Fabian, Janek, and Julien have just returned from the DPG Spring Meeting of the Quantum Optics Section in Bonn. From March 10th to 14th, they presented their work on nuclear clocks and X-ray cavities. On Monday, Julien presented the results of his master's thesis on quantum optical effects in thin-film X-ray cavities. Later, Fabian explained his findings on exceptional points at X-ray wavelengths. On Wednesday, Adriana gave an invited talk on precision measurements at the borderline between atomic and nuclear physics. In the evening, at the poster session, Alex and Janek presented an overview of their master's theses and showcased their preliminary results.
A special highlight of the conference was the talk by Nobel laureate Anne L'Huillier about her work on attosecond physics.
In addition to the scientific program, the physicists had the opportunity to make and maintain connections with colleagues from other research groups. They also enjoyed their free time with a pleasant walk along the Rhine promenade.
