At EP1, we conduct research into light-matter interactions, focusing on topological photonics, quantum light, correlated many-particle physics and hybrid quantum systems.
Our aim is to discover new phenomena and translate these into groundbreaking photonic and quantum technologies through responsible, forward-looking research.
We are an active member of the ctd.qmat Cluster of Excellence. Our members take part in cluster events, and students join the Quantum Matter Academy to receive comprehensive support and networking opportunities.
We are committed to teaching and science communication through lectures, seminars, laboratory courses and public engagement. We offer comprehensive training and research opportunities to undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students.
