Automation of one-loop matching through the Universal One-Loop Effective Action
Despite the well-known shortcomings of the Standard Model of particle physics no New Physics has been discovered yet. One possible interpretation of this fact is that physics beyond the Standard Model appears, at least partially, in the form of heavy new states. In such a scenario effective field theories are a suitable tool that can be used to obtain precise predictions for observables at low energies. There are several steps in the effective field theory approach that can be automated in order to make the analysis of models of New Physics more efficient. I will discuss the automation of matching calculations at the one-loop level through the so-called Universal One-Loop Effective Action.
