Students shine at iNOW 2025 in Wroclaw, Poland.
05.08.2025TEP students Moreno Patane and Katja Ross earn top poster awards at the international Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop 2025.
Two students have brought international recognition to their research by capturing 2nd and 3rd place poster awards at the prestigious international Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop 2025 (iNOW 2025), held this year in Wroclaw, Poland.
Moreno Patane earned the 2nd place award for the poster, “Two-Photon Interference from an InAs Quantum Dot Emitting in the Telecom C-Band”. His work explores the phenomena of two-photon interference using indium arsenide (InAs) quantum dots, with a focus on applications within the critical telecom C-band. This research contributes valuable insights toward the development of advanced quantum communication networks, where secure and efficient photon transmission is essential.
Katja Ross took home the 3rd place honor for her poster, “Fabrication of Electrically Contactable Holey Circular Bragg Gratings in the Telecom C-Band”. This project details innovative fabrication methods for creating electrically contactable holey circular Bragg gratings optimized for operation in the telecom C-band. The advancement promises to impact future designs of optical devices and systems by improving performance and scalability.
Held annually, the iNOW workshop gathers leading minds and emerging talents in the field of nanophotonics and optoelectronics. The achievements of Moreno Patane and Katja Ross exemplify the spirit of innovation and academic excellence that the event celebrates.
Congratulations to both students for their outstanding work and for representing their institution with distinction on an international stage.
