Second Grete Hermann Network Workshop

07/08/2025

From June 30 to July 2, the Second Grete Hermann Network (GHN) Workshop took place at the University of Würzburg. The GHN is an international network of female researchers in physics, affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat. Its goal is to promote outstanding research driven by female scientists and to support their career development.

The workshop was organized by Johanna Erdmenger and Adriana, who invited numerous international female speakers to give scientific talks covering a broad range of topics, from condensed matter physics and photonics to quantum gravity. These presentations and discussions were open to all faculty members.

A poster session gave junior researchers the opportunity to present their ongoing projects, accompanied by a pleasant dinner buffet. Congratulations to Romana Ganser for winning the Best Poster Award!

In addition to the scientific program, the workshop offered plenty of opportunities for networking in a relaxed setting during coffee breaks and the conference dinner. The event concluded with a wine tour at the Ludwig Schmitt Winery, a traditional Franconian estate renowned for its excellent regional wines.
