CIP stands for Computer Investment Program.
It is a program of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) which was initiated in 1985 by the federal ministry for education and research. It's purpose is to increase the use of computers in student training.
The CIP-Pool enables students to access the internet and to use computer resources, for example for email, world wide web, Unix courses, programming courses.
On the following pages you will find information on how and where to get an account, news and announcements, current terms and conditions, short instructions of how to change your settings, comments on the computers in use, a short guide on how to set up your own homepage, some advice about safety and a brief overview of the installed software.
